Lost Contact
Andrew Crawford | British Short Film

Andrew 'P O M' Crawford grew up in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia before returning to the U.K. in 1987.

Trained as a musician, he began writing screenplays about four years ago. He has written five feature length screenplays, three of which were until recently under 'option to purchase' by 'Gruber Films' in London under the working title DEEP SHIFT TRILOGY. Signed only as a writer the option agreement ran out after 'Gruber Films' failed to take the works into production within the agreed time.

Andrew Crawford | Filmography
Sleepwalker

During this time Andrew began producing and directing his own short films using his musical background to compose his own unique soundtracks.

The first, CHANCER (10m), a no budget piece involving one actor, one location and one camera was screened at festivals around the world and won best film at Milan International Short Film Festival (1998) and 'Reel to Reel' short film festival (1998) in Glasgow.

SLEEPWALKER (4m) was intended to take what he could do with film and express visually the performance of his other art form, music.

LOST CONTACT (10m) is a short film he used as a basis for a feature length film of the same title. It served as an example of the style he wished to use and through ten minutes gives an idea of the two main characters and a key twist in the plot.

FILMOGRAPHY:

CHANCER (1998.) 10 mins Role: Writer, Producer, Director, Editor, Camera operator, Lighting and Set Design.

Initially an exercise in what might be achievable with a digital video camera, one actor, one location and no budget. Filmed in a squat in central London, it is a not entirely serious, ten minute insight into one man's self justification of the suicidal game he plays through his over inflated ego and lack of common sense.

SLEEPWALKER (1999) 3 mins Role: Writer, Producer, Director, Performer, Composer, Lighting and Set Design.

Something Picasso once said is reflected through the vision of a lone musician and his guitar.

LOST CONTACT (2000 - Short) 10 mins Role: Writer, Producer, Director, Actor, Composer, Lighting and Set Design.

A ten minute piece in which two men discuss events leading up to a job going terribly wrong earlier in the evening resulting in a potentially disastrous conclusion to their own relationship.

LOST CONTACT (2001 - Feature.) 90 mins Role: Writer, Producer, Director, Cameraman, Lighting, Set Design and construction, Soundtrack Composer and Performer, Editor.

A full-length feature film based upon the short film of the same name. Primarily a darkly humorous comedy, it surrounds events leading up to a heist going wrong resulting in a potentially disastrous conclusion to the relationship between the two lead characters.

REPLACING JOHNNY (2003 - Short 10m) Writer, Producer, Director, Editor, Camera operator, Lighting and Set Design.

Cast, rehearsed, filmed and edited in less than 48 hours Replacing Johnny revolves around four people sitting at a table awaiting instructions for a job and debating over the origins of a peice of classical music one of them is humming.
